Remains takes its pattern from the tiled surfaces of Qasr al-Basha, a Mamluk-era palace in Gaza's Old City that later served as a museum of the region's archaeological history. In December 2023, the palace was struck in an airstrike and later demolished, reducing centuries of history to rubble. Cast in powder-coated metal, this tray carries one fragment of that pattern forward.
