Lapse begins at a small walnut block, where two gold-lacquered metal sheets hook into place before taking different paths. One rises to carry a black marble top; the other runs along the floor, then climbs, wrapped in walnut as it extends in the opposite direction. Set at different heights, the surfaces hold a quiet distance between them while remaining joined at their point of origin.
