Deema

Made by founder Rama Akel as a gift for her sister, Deema carries the name of the person it was designed for.

Solid walnut is carried on copper sheets, with a removable upholstered cushion resting above. At 240 × 37 × 44 cm, the bench holds a long, narrow proportion, bringing the grain of the walnut together with the warmth of copper and the softness of upholstery.

Deema remains a single piece, made for her sister and kept outside any continuing edition. Its place in the collection begins with that personal relationship — a gift that will not be repeated.
